Privacy Policy

Summary

RCXUS is an independent price-comparison site for research-catalog listings. You can browse the price board without an account. This policy explains what we collect if you create an account or use optional features.

Some features described here, such as price-alert emails, newsletters and paid memberships, are not active yet. This policy covers them for when they launch.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address and a unique account ID. If you sign in with Google, we also receive the name and email address Google shares with us. We never see or store your password. It goes directly to our sign-in provider, Supabase.

Google sign-in. We ask Google only for your basic profile information (your name and email address). We use it only to create your account and sign you in. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone other than the service providers listed below, who run the site for us. We do not ask Google for access to your contacts, mail, files, calendar or any other Google data.

Profile. A record with your account ID, email, an optional display name, and when it was created and updated.

Price alerts. The product, your target price, your order-size limit, your email address, and the alert's delivery status and timestamps.

Newsletter choice. Whether you opted in, the version of the wording you agreed to, and when. This is kept separate from price alerts. The box is never pre-ticked.

Membership and billing (when available). Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, its status and renewal date. Card details are entered on Stripe's pages. We never see or store them.

Activity records. A log of some account and administrator actions, for example changes to newsletter preferences, with the account ID and time.

Saved assets. Your saved-assets list is kept in your browser on your device, not on our servers.

Browser storage. To keep you signed in, your sign-in session is kept in your browser's local storage. We do not set cookies and do not use advertising or analytics trackers at this time.

Technical data. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes requests to the site and may record technical details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested.

How we use it

To run your account and the site; to send price alerts you ask for; to send the newsletter only if you opted in; to manage memberships and billing; and to keep the site secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show advertising.

Who we share it with

We use these service providers, who handle data only to provide their service to us:

• Cloudflare: hosting, our database, DNS, and our domain email.
• Supabase: sign-in and account security.
• Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Resend: sends alert and account emails, once enabled.
• Stripe: payments and subscription management, once enabled.
• Firecrawl: reads public supplier web pages to collect prices. It does not receive any user data. Our own servers also read suppliers' public product feeds; no user data is sent to suppliers.

We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the site.

Your choices

You can delete your price alerts and unsubscribe from the newsletter in your Watchlist at any time, sign out, and clear your browser storage.

To ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, email support@rcxus.com. We will respond within 30 days.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete the account data we hold. Some information is kept by our service providers under their own retention policies, for example email delivery logs and payment records, and we may keep records we are required to keep for legal, tax, security or billing reasons.

Security

Your sign-in token is verified on our servers on every request, and access controls limit who can see private areas. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

RCXUS is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

Changes to this policy

We will update the date at the top of this page when we change it. We will tell account holders about significant changes by email.
